ABOUT US

Cynthia Green is the founder of Shining Stars Childcare and has twenty-five years experience working with children. She has a passion for supporting strong families and strengthening communities. Cynthia has worked as a Title One teachers’ aide and a special education aide in various elementary schools, served as both Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader, taught Vacation Bible Schools and Children's Sunday School classes, owned her own home daycare, and has worked as a Family Support Specialist with Healthy Families Indiana. Cynthia also served three years as her church's Children's Director and has an Associate’s Degree in General Studies. Cynthia's desire is to help families by providing quality Christian childcare and by creating a positive and exciting experience for children.

Melanie Woodring, daughter of Cynthia, worked for Cynthia’s home daycare for three years in Wyoming while attending high school. Shortly after moving to Indiana, she pursued multiple degrees from the University of Louisville, and now has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Education. She interned in the training and development department at Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s Healthcare, supervised Millionaire’s Row at Churchill Downs, and is the business manager of Shining Stars.
